I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

My name is Ruzanna Hernandez. I am a public school principal, and I own and operate 2 small side businesses. One of them is Efficiency and Organization! I am in the process of writing books that teach readers how to become more organized, efficient, and effective in every aspect of life to achieve more. I recently had the first of a series of books published! It's called Efficiency and Organization and is available on Amazon. I earned my bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles, 2 master's degrees and a doctoral degree from the University of La Verne. Besides my work and my side businesses, I am married with two children (Alex is 14 and Lucy is 11). I have been married for almost 18 years and I live in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

How did you get started?

In a 5 year timespan, I managed to earn 2 credentials, 2 master's degrees, and a doctoral degree (between 2014 and 2019) while maintaining my household, being a mom, and working full-time! In order to keep balance and do it all successfully, I had to develop some mad organizational skills, goal-setting skills, as well as effective time management and self-discipline. I achieved major educational, family, financial, and professional goals by utilizing those skills and acquiring that knowledge. I decided to share it with everyone and anyone who, like me, was trying to achieve big things in life! I figured they can learn from my trials and triumphs by reading my book and visiting my website for knowledge and inspiration.

What Inspired the work you’re doing?

What inspires me is hearing people speak about how they want to better themselves. I hear my hairstylist talk about wanting to do more with her life - wanting to start her own business one day. I hear office staff tell me how they want to earn degrees and become classroom teachers. I see parents who want to save enough money to purchase their first family home one day soon. Whatever people are in pursuit of, when they are actively trying to better themselves or their living conditions, they inspire me to help them in some way!

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My passion is teaching. I am definitely living my passion as a public school educator, AND as an author of a self-help/self-development book!

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

What brings me joy is helping people. As an educator (as a school principal, author of a self-help book, writer) I am helping people every day. That's my joy - knowing that I am helping and what I am doing is making a difference in at least one other person's life.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

Every goal I set to achieve is tied to my core values and beliefs. I am a skilled goal-setter and goal-accomplisher! I am living intentionally by pursuing goals goals that speak to who I am as a person. My goals are to stay in education where I can continue to impact the lives of others, and to continue to write and produce information that will also help inspire and push others to achieve major goals in their lives, no matter what obstacles stand in their way.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

I think my younger self could not believe where I am now. When I was young, I had very little self-esteem, I was hopeless, and lacked self-confidence. Over time as I pushed myself to pursue and achieve major goals, I gained more and more self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence!

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Even though I don't have one mantra or go-to affirmation, I do a lot of positive self-talk and self-empowerment during the day. In my mind, I am lifting myself up, constantly, especially during the highly stressful moments that we all experience in life. I remind myself, constantly, that it's going to be okay and to keep pushing myself harder and harder.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to reach a wide audience one day to present to groups large and small to empower others with knowledge and skills to succeed in life. I am an average person who came from absolutely nothing to achieve big goals and dreams. I am not a multi-millionaire and I am not famous. In many parts of the world, these are the 2 criteria one must meet to be seen as successful. I disagree; being successful is about achieving life goals - the types of goals that not only makes us happy, but make a difference in the lives of others.
