I am truly inspired by Joslyn’s creativity, kindness, and passion. She’s creating and launching a brand that facilitates body positivity for all women to indulge in, a safe space of gratitude and love - and I can’t wait for you guys to learn more and follow along.

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

Hi, my name is Joslyn Chanel. I am the founder of Nanibox. Currently, I am pouring ALL of my heart and soul into Nanibox, which is a quarterly subscription box celebrating the feminine experience through acknowledging diversity, highlighting transparency, and encouraging self-care through carefully curated products sourced from brands alike.

How did you get started?

I wouldn't say there was a pivotal moment in time that led me to this journey, however I will say it was a chain of moments that brought me here to create a passion brand like Nanibox. Love lost was a major contributing factor in sparking the fire behind getting the ball rolling.

I remember moments when I was seeking to give love in spaces that did not have the capacity to accept the love I was openly willing to give, and in turn, gave me no other option but to pour love into myself. “Take care of yourself first, then take people with you on the journey - Joanna Bradford is truly the best quote that describes the shift in direction for me. Still finding the urge to give love at a higher frequency, I created the idea of self-care packages for women who also struggled with the idea of taking a step back, and owning extra intentional time to take care of themselves.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

Thinking beyond personal experiences of how it all started, inspiration also stemmed from not seeing enough of the kind of work I am doing. In the 21st century, we still see taboos in the normalcy and functionality of a woman's body. We still see lack of diversity in the imagery of the women's autonomy, and we still see opportunities in creating safe spaces that encourages transparency when it comes to this.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion is to freely create, whatever creating is in the moment. It has been a swim uphill to truly find what that purpose is, but a journey I would not trade anything for. I will say I am living my passion in the pursuit of my purpose. Through the soul searching that has come to be Nanibox, combined with an amazing support system that holds genuine circles, I can say I have found my niche, and thus far the most fulfilled I have felt in my lifetime.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

To be honest, solitude brings me the most joy. I love to run home to my bed, light a nice sandalwood candle, aromatherapy diffuser, dim the lights, jam out to smooth music, and massage essential oils into my skin. I've had quite a few  friends express that my brand is a splitting image of how I truly navigate through life, which feels SO good that the authenticity is felt.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

I live intentionally by following my intuition. If my heart and mind is not in it, I do not entertain it. I believe life is too precious to involve your soul in lukewarm experiences. If I could not read my mind and heart, it would be pretty challenging to live intentionally.

With that being said, a lot of my time is spent by myself, understanding who I am, and what it is that truly brings me peace and purpose. Journaling plays a huge role in tapping into me, and my creative flow. Anyone who knows me, know how much I cherish Sundays. This day calls for recharging. I cut off my phone for a few hours, write down in my journal my success from the previous week, any big takeaways from the previous week, and what I plan to accomplish for the week to come. This is my way of checking in. A sweet routine that mirrors “Joslyn how are you doing?”

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

My younger self would be so proud. I always had a creative “green thumb”. My late Father called me “butterfly”, and would say I was this free being that did everything with love, creativity, and zeal. I still hold true to this child-like spirit by doing what I want and what I feel is right. So grateful that I was brought up in a loving home that allowed me to express myself. A foundation that made me who I am today.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Your art is not about how many people like your work. Your art is about if your heart likes your work, if your soul likes your work. It's about how honest you are with yourself and you must never trade honesty for relatability. - Rupi Kaur

A beautiful piece of word that I often find myself reading when coming down with the fear of opinions and taking risk. A gentle reminder that everything good comes from the heart, and to always create from that place.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to use Nanibox platform to build a vast sisterhood that women can rely on as a safe haven. Cultivate virtual connections and transform those connections into 3D interactions by holding annual conferences.

Most times I reflect on the relationships I have come to know, and the positive impacts that each one have played in my life. 99.9% of those relationships have been a woman. My biggest dream is to mirror that by connect women together.

Xoxo,

Jos
