I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

I’m Chi-sing CHENG from Hong Kong, the creator of Soolooka. I spread self-love and self-care messages with cute characters on Instagram.

I publish a book called I BELIEVE IN ME with Mango this year, to help others cheer up and encourage others overcome bad days through hopeful illustrations.

I’m continuing to explore other ideas that can support others on the self-love journey.

How did you get started?

I had always regarded myself as a person who knew nothing about drawing. After I quitted my last job, I had a calling to learn drawing and share my thoughts with others. I hesitated a bit as it was very scary to step out of my comfort zone, but my heart told me to just do it anyway. Then I watched some online drawing tutorials, and created a character to help me express my internal conversations and thoughts.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

I had a difficult breakup years ago. I though I would be pathetic for the rest of my life. One day, my heart asked me what I really want. The answer was clear—to be happy. So I started to read books and take classes on knowing more about myself. I started to have deep self-talk and learn to face my emotions and fear. Life starts to get easier. Slowly, I find myself starting to find joy in life.

This makes me wanting to sharing my thoughts and the conversations between my heart and me. I believe this could let those who feel bad about themselves or their lives knowing that they are not alone, and there will always be a way out.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion is self growth. The more I grow, the more I can contribute. Though growing sometimes gives me hard times, it helps me to better understand myself and guides me towards an even more happier life. It also allows me to be more empathetic and compassionate toward others, and to better support others.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

Learning new things, sharing thoughts through drawing and words, walking with and growing with other beautiful souls on self-love journey.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

My key to live intentionally is awareness. Only when I’m aware of my feelings, physically or emotionally, I am able to make heart-based decisions. Focusing on the breathes, and practising Chinese calligraphy help me to stay grounded. Journal book and emotion tracker are my favourite tools to reflect and stay calm.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

She would probably be surprised with what I’m doing now, as she cared so much what others would think about her. But I’m sure she would also be proud that I choose to do something meaningful.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Let love guide the way.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is surrounded by loving souls, and helps others to realise they are loved and they deserve love and joy and healing. I’m actually living it.
