Fran Dargaville is a Functional Nutritionist, Yoga teacher, and a true light and inspiration. Fran is on a mission to help women get to the root cause of their symptoms and thrive with real food nutrition.

We all receive messages from our bodies all the time that tell us something isn’t right (or that it is!). Fran is a firm believer that by discovering what’s really going on instead of just slapping another quick-fix bandaid over the symptoms, you’ll get the results you want. Fran is known for her practical, no-BS approach to nutrition - and that’s what she brings to every one of her consultations. Most days you can find her starting the day with a swim in the ocean and a nut mylk latte from her favorite cafe before she jumps online for consultations with virtual nutrition clients from all around the world.

I’m so inspired by what she’s created, and Fran currently holds functional nutrition consultations in person on the Northern Beaches of Sydney or via phone or Skype. Check out Fran’s journey below, and I can’t wait for you to follow along and learn more!

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

Hey! I’m Fran, and I’m a Functional Nutritionist and Yoga Teacher. I’m on a mission to help women get to the root cause of their symptoms and thrive with real food nutrition.

Right now, I’m working on an online sugar detox program, and I’m teaming up with some amazing friends/health practitioners to run retreats.

How did you get started?

When I first got interested in nutrition, I started a blog and shared recipes and my journey with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and nutrition. I loved how fun it was to express my creativity through cooking, photography and writing - with the massive bonus of being able to help people through everything I share. When I finished my nutrition studies, I started seeing nutrition clients and running group detox programs. Today I do all of the above, and I love every minute of it!

What inspired the work that you're doing?

I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for the second time around 5 years ago. I saw countless doctors and specialists and had every test under the sun, and they just kept on telling me there was nothing wrong. But I just knew something wasn’t right.

So, I took matters into my own hands, and devoured every book, podcast and blog I could get my hands on. That lead me to study holistic nutrition through the Nutritional Therapy Association. I had zero intention of becoming a nutritionist at the time, but as I healed myself (and realised how much fun I was having learning about nutrition), I was so inspired and had to share this message with the world!

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion would have to be bringing people together to learn about all things health and wellness - which I do through in-person in workshops and retreats and online in my group detox programs. I definitely feel as though I’m living my passion and purpose!

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

My morning ritual is my joy blueprint - I love a good cup of coffee (coconut flat white is my current brew of choice), a swim in the ocean and some form of movement.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

Moving my body daily, getting in the ocean as often as possible and spending time each morning being present and living before I switch off airplane mode on my phone. Productivity-wise, since I have so many things going on all the time - using Trello to plan my life has been a gamechanger.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

My younger self would be surprised! I’d always thought my path was university and a stable job. I ticked off the first part, but I really didn’t enjoy working full time in an office! I never expected to be running my own biz, but my younger self would be very proud.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Since I always have a million ideas running through my head at any given moment, I’m constantly reminding myself “I am calm.”

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to continue inspiring more and more people to make positive shifts in their lives - to nourish their bodies with real food, and live a life they love. I’d also love to run retreats in epic locations around the globe!
