In 2021 you’ll be able to WATCH our interviews on YouTube! And we’re kicking things off with this week’s new episode with L’areal.

You’ll still be able to listen to Seek The Joy on your favorite podcast app, but starting in 2021 and this week you’ll also be able to tune in and watch our interviews on our channel.

I’m both excited and nervous for this next step for the show, but it feels right . . . and I’m all about trusting the timing of what feels good! You can also find all of our past episodes on YouTube too. I hope you’ll subscribe and tune in!

On the podcast today is L'areal Lipkins, author, speaker and life coach.

We’re kicking off 2021 with an incredible episode all about crafting a roadmap for 2021 by aligning our goals with our vision, and I couldn’t imagine having this conversation with anyone but L’areal.

L’areal is a wife, mom of two, international speaker, entrepreneur, corporate trainer, and author who specializes in helping women elevate their mindset so they can achieve their goals. She is the author of A Woman With Vision, which looks at why 92% of people who set goals never achieve them.

In this week’s episode L’areal and I chat about crafting a roadmap for 2021, what it means to be a woman with vision, how to get clear on what you want to manifest, and how to align our mindset to move from intention to execution. L’areal shares her method for goal setting, the difference between goals and vision, how we can find clarity through chaos, and why learning to celebrate ourselves is a key part of goal setting. Plus, we talk vision board 101, common mistakes people make when creating a vision board, the gift of 2020, her biggest dream, and so much more!

As L’areal shares, setting goals is a good place to start, but there’s so much more to it. From working on your mindset to creating an actionable plan, there’s so much wisdom, advice, and tools shared in this episode, I know you’re going to love it.

I’m so excited to share this week’s new episode with L’areal, and I can’t wait to hear what you think! Make sure to join the conversation on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

My mission has really become helping women move from having the goal, having the dream, having the vision, to how do I really grow myself and shift my mindset so that I’m able to execute it? I think that’s really powerful because a lot of us are raising kids, and a lot of us have goals that impact others beyond ourselves. When we don’t show up, it has a ripple effect. It’s become my mission to help women show up.

The biggest challenge that I see is a lot of times we think once I get to the goal then my mindset will change, when in reality your mindset has to change before you get to the goal. It’s not that your goals are too big, it’s that your mindset is too small. You cannot accomplish a new goal with an old mindset!
— L'areal Lipkins

Before L’areal had a best-selling book, online courses, and almost 12k social media followers, she felt completely stuck in her life and career. The only problem was on the outside she had all the trappings of success like the degrees, the house, luxury car, and fancy title…

But on the inside, she was miserable.

What she realized was that she had spent her whole life chasing goals, but she didn’t have a clear vision for her life. So she decided to create a life that didn’t just look good, but felt good.

To be a woman with vision is to tap into your own power, and it’s being able to see beyond where you are today. A lot of times when people set goals it’s kind of the here and now, but the vision is what is the possibility, what is the potential, who can I really become?
— L'areal Lipkins

During her journey, she learned that the traditional goal setting process was designed to fail. In A Woman With Vision, L’areal gives you a blueprint to reach all the goals and dreams that have been placed in your heart.

One of L’areal’s core teachings is that traditional ‘S.M.A.R.T’ goals don’t work, because there's nothing that makes you ask about the emotional reasoning for your goals. In her own journey, she discovered that the traditional goal setting process was designed to fail.

In today’s new episode, L’areal shares why 2020 is really a gift (and wasn’t a waste!) and why it’s been an opportunity to reassess our goals and where we’re heading. As she says, now is the time to reignite our dreams, elevate our mindset, and step into the power of being a woman with vision, and today’s new episode couldn’t be more timely.

What does it mean to be a woman with vision?

It’s about having the confidence to stop settling for what’s comfortable and really go after what you want, regardless of what obstacles or roadblocks get in your way.

Giving yourself permission to let go of old ways of thinking and being that no longer serve you so that you can become the woman that achieves the goals that you desire (and deserve).

Taking action…even when you’re scared and you’re unsure what the results will be, because you know that failure isn’t fatal…it’s just feedback.
