Staying Grounded and Seeking Our Joy in the Midst of COVID19

Hi friends,

I’ve been thinking a lot about what we can do to stay grounded, and not panic, in the midst of COVID19, a time of uncertainty, chaos, fear, anxiety, and sickness

For me, creating an action plan has always helped me manage my anxiety, stress, and uncertainty. So, I created a little something, in the hopes that sharing my tips for staying grounded amidst this chaos might help you too.

What you do on an individual scale has an incredible impact globally. That applies to what we do physically (good hygiene, social distancing, self-quarantine, etc.) and emotionally, physically and spiritually (how we stay grounded, calm, and in a good mindset).

Below are my top 8 tips for staying grounded and seeking our joy, and I definitely go in more detail in the episode - so make sure to tune in!

At the end of the day, my biggest tip is to focus on what you can control. Often what we can control the most is our mood, our attitude, and how we choose to approach any given situation. Think about creating an action plan, what you want each day to look like, and even write down a couple of goals or things that you really want to make sure you do during this time!

At the end of the day, the more that we’re able to stay grounded and connected, the easier it will be to keep our heads above the chaos.

WORK FROM HOME TIPS

I’ve received SO MANY great tips for working from home, I wanted to include them in this episode too:

  1. Work regular hours - if that’s 9-5 or 9-6, etc.

  2. If you can, create a separate office / work space for yourself.

  3. Get dressed like you’re going in to the office.

  4. Take regular breaks! Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean that you can or you should be online 24/7. It’s all about creating good boundaries for yourself.

  5. Connect with your co-workers often via video chat, slack, Skype, etc. Do what you can to maintain the communication you would have if you were still all together at the office.

  6. Know that there will be distractions, delays and technology might not always work - and that’s okay! Be patient with yourself, and others, during this time.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about these tips! Make sure to join the conversation on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and comment below and share your tips for staying grounded, and working from home, too!

Sending so much love. Always remember that you’re not alone. We’re in this together, and we’re all going to be see the other side of this - together.
