Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday!

On the podcast this week is Katie DePaola, the founder and CEO of Inner Glow Circle, a company that trains female entrepreneurs, leaders and coaches who aspire to transform their own life and the lives of others by becoming a life coach.

At Inner Glow Circle, they work with women who want to work for themselves, not by themselves as an entrepreneur. They train clients to become an accredited life coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and helps them to create a sustainable business they’ll love through group training programs and masterminds.

Katie’s story is one of tremendous resilience and self-trust. She lost her brother to an accidental overdose, she’s a Lyme Disease Survivor, and she built her business from her bathtub, growing the company from self-funded startup to million-dollar business (incredible!)

In this week’s new episode we chat about Katie shares her journey with Lyme Disease, how she managed the anxiety, self-doubt, and frustration that came with years of being misdiagnosed, and why we need to believe in our own healing. We talk about how building Inner Glow Circle saved her life (she built her business from her bathtub!), finding purpose in our pain and life experiences, and the power of taking inspired action. Plus, we talk about shifting the conversation around invisible illness, the powerful moment outside of her parent’s house that changed her life forever, why we need to ignite our own fire, and so much more!

I’m so excited to share this week’s inspiring conversation with Katie, and I can’t wait to hear what you think! Make sure to join the conversation on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

People always ask me how did you survive all of this? How did you keep going? I’m stubborn, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Being stubborn served me in a lot of ways because if I had taken everything that happened to me as a sign that I wasn’t supposed to be doing this work, I wouldn’t be doing this work! To be completely honest with you, my business is what kept me going.

I had to train my mindset and keep going back to that place of believing I’m going to beat the odds, I’m going to! I had to feed myself that affirmation again and again until I started to collect and attract more evidence that healing was actually possible.
— Katie DePaola

Katie has turned her greatest challenges into her greatest opportunities, and as you’ll hear her share in this week’s new episode - her business is what saved her life. Through her company, Inner Glow Circle, and and by sharing her experiences, Katie is rebranding resilience, showing women how to use their challenges as a platform to better the lives of others and build profitable businesses. With her growing team, she trains thousands of women across the world on how to find their purpose, live it and get paid.

Since she was a teenager, Katie dreamt of creating an online space where young women could tell the truth about their lives, ask questions and get great advice from other women had been through it. Even though she didn’t start Inner Glow Circle until 2015, it was always in her head - ready to be shared.

Katie founded the Inner Glow Circle to help women find deeper meaning in their lives and to help them escape the rat race by building programs that teach them how to create their own business focused on helping others. All Katie ever wanted was to find her purpose, live it and get paid.

The key is to remember that self-doubt isn’t real, and we can’t listen to it. We can’t give it a lot of authority. We have to understand that self-doubt is the thing that tries to be really loud, and we have the choice to believe it or not.
— Katie DePaola

Right after she launched her company, Inner Glow Circle, Katie’s brother died from an accidental overdose. A few months later, Katie cut ties with her business partner and then-fiancé, all the while, fighting a battle with Lyme Disease. Between meetings, she cried, punched her pillow and made deals with God. She knew giving up wasn’t an option. Even on the hardest days, she still had somewhere to be.

She had created something in her life that was worth showing up for.

She was grieving the loss of her brother. The Lyme was taking its toll on her body. As Katie shares, her business was the giant gift she gave herself but hadn’t even realized it yet.

Katie’s perspective on how to deal with the hardest parts of live, shift our mindset and remove self-doubt, and ignite our own fire (or as she shares, light that bitch up ourselves!) is refreshing, relatable, and there are going to be so many “aha!” moments for you in this episode. Katie really shares some of her best advice for women who want to “glow through what they go through.”

I think the way to find your purpose in your pain or in your life experiences is to create it. We have so much more power than we realize, and I think a lot of us feel disempowered and we don’t need to. The reality is that you are creating your life, and you are in control.
— Katie DePaola

In her free time, Katie enjoys working out, spending time with her family and indulging in her favorite guilty pleasures such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, peanut butter, and retail therapy. When it comes to her work - Katie is all in (it’s what saved her life, after all!)

Katie loves doing the “impossible” and inspiring her team, teaching their students and building their branding and messaging. I’m so grateful for everything that she shared in this week’s new episode, and I’m so excited for you to check it out!
